Many years ago, I worked in Halfords. For those unfamiliar with British brands, Halfords is a shop that sells bits for cars, car stereos and bicycles. Mostly the car parts are styling things like go faster stripes and furry dice.
When working there I was presented with a folder which detailed a selling technique which I have integrated into my daily customer service or whatever it is that I do. It starts by imaging a picture. Similar to this:-

Basically, the picture works like this. The teeth in the cage show how you should be with the customer/client. Smile and keep them captivated by talking.
The Range Rover is a new model – This signifies selling up the range.
The hills and country side – Show you going that little bit further to get them to come back.
I thought I’d share this with you as over the past month I have managed to use it in all manner of situations. Especially with customer service. I’ve also told others, younger people, on several occasions these past two weeks, how memorising this picture (or one similar) helps maintain a happy client/customer/girlfriend.
Works in interview too 😉
