The weekend so far

I took Friday off. We had a lazy day. Went to see Charlotte. Bummed about. Took the DVD player back to Tescos….oh hang on….I’ve already told you this.

Friday Night we watched White Noise. EVP creeps me out. So this film made me feel uneasy. angelhands didn’t help by switching the TV’s on to the static and retuning the radio just to creep me out further. Hmph

Ok…then Saturday. angelhands and I had a lazy day. Went on a mammoth walk. Taking in the sights and sounds of Woolton Woods.

We wandered through the undergrowth. Saw loads of blackberries (We are planning a trip to the Ralla tomorrow to pick berries :-D)

Anyway, we walked through the undergrowth and into the walled garden. It was ablaze with colour. A lot of the plants were past their best but the vibrant colours and the soft sound of the sprinkling fountain was amazing. Just look at the cuckoo clock!

The Cuckoo Clock

The vibrant yellows matched angelhands‘ top as you can see. I was also amazed that they had got the old fountain working again and had even managed to plop a few goldfish in the pond!

This fountain doesn’t usually work

We left the woods and walked into the village. While we were pottering about the graveyard in St Mary’s church a biplane flew over head! I think it had something to do with the wedding that was going on there.

From the graveyard we went to Lets Eat…in Woolton which is a newish café. I had a mocha and wanted some cheese on toast. But because we are skint and angelhands is on a diet I didn’t. So we just had coffee and then walked home.

Later on that evening we met the Mystery Cousin, or Angela. I’d even managed to persuade my mum n dad to take her and her husband/partner Colin to the White Horse

I was amazed at how similar to Aunty Joyce she looks. I know this is a bad picture of Joyce but you can kind of see the similarity

My nan is the lady on the left. Joyce is the lady on the right.

Anyway we had a light hearted chat. Constantly interrupted by my mum and dad. I really wanted to have a heart to heart and open up to her but I don’t feel comfortable opening up in front of my mum and dad. They tend to contradict me all the time. Its just their way I know but its makes me feel like a kid and frustrates me. I just let them get on with it.

So after 3 pints, meeting the mystery cousin and missing the kebab shop we walked home!

In all I think angelhands and I walked about 12 miles on Saturday. I’m tired today (though that might be because I took my meds late) but that didn’t stop us devouring a Lamb roast dinner at the Black Horse in Cronton with Angela, her bloke and my mum and dad. Finally today, I am going to settle down in front of the TV to watch Messiah.

I’ll post more next week. 😉
