Too bloody hot

# – I’m sat in the Sydney Jones Library at the moment, sweating like a bastard. I think it’s the aspirin (though it may be the bisoprolol), but regardless, one of the tablets I take each morning causes an increase in perspiration. So sometimes I look like I’ve been in the shower in my clothes. Fortunately, I’m not quite that hot (yet).

# – Last night I watched The Day The Earth Stood Still and mused on how attitudes really haven’t changed much. If Hollywood remade DtESS they wouldn’t really have to change the story that much to bring it up to today’s standards. I found it amusing watching for anti-communist references and mentally rejigged the script to that of terrorism. Curiously the same weak shite fed to people about communism seems to be the same weak shite peddlled about terrorism. (Has anyone done a study of the similarities? How about an article comparing anti-communist references in 1950’s Sci-fi to present day references to terrorism? That would make an interesting read methinks)

# – I’ve finished the box of cider I bought from Asda last week. I forgot how bloody good real cider tastes and how damn fine and refreshing it can be. Such a pity a great deal of the real cider presses and producers have gone the way of some of Britains independent breweries.

# – There’s a student with a really fat arse that keeps bending down in front of me, by the photocopiers. Her builders bum is putting me off my concentration.
