Last night we went en mass to Nando’s in Junction 32 or Xscape as it is called. Food was good. Came home. Went to bed.
Xscape is a huge place. It’s got a ski slope (complete with snow), an ice climbing wall and a normal climbing wall. It also houses a multi screen cinema, several “Urban” clothing shops and countless mini chain restaurants (ie Frankie & Benny’s, Nando’s, Chiquito’s etc). It’s a real shame that the Festival Gardens was so badly managed as that could have been similar.
Meredith came too and was her usual wild self. For a one year old she is very mobile and happily chatters to herself and anyone who will listen. Of course when nobody (or not enough people) is paying attention to her she screams and becomes annoying. Still…not my place to say anything. I’ll just grind my teeth and get on with it eh?
ION – Tonight we have a visit from Moben kitchens to assess whether we can or cannot have one of their kitchens in our tiny kitchen room. We also have a plumber calling round to quote us for the plumbing of a washing machine and to fix the leak under the sink. Last night we had a visit from some builders to assess what work needs doing with:-
- the flat roof on the pantry
- the attic
- the roof
- the render
- the chimbley
It’s all very exciting. Also the wife discovered that our Brighton based chums, Philip and Jaq, have put an offer in on a house in Blyth, which is the other side of Doncaster (Kind of the equivalent of living outside Warrington if we still lived in Liverpool), upping sticks and moving there. Seems like the world and his wife are switching to the semi-rural life and moving to the back of beyond.
